What begins as small compromises - missing church occasionally, tolerating ungodly entertainment, or adopting worldly perspectives - eventually leads to complete spiritual desensitization.

God's approach in Leviticus 18 reveals a crucial principle: relationship comes before rules. Before giving any commands, God repeatedly declares I am the Lord your God, establishing identity and belonging. He commanded the Israelites not to follow the practices of Egypt or Canaan, cultures that normalized sexual immorality, child sacrifice, and pagan worship. God's boundaries weren't arbitrary restrictions but protective measures safeguarding fundamental institutions like marriage, family, children, and worship. When rebellion is tolerated long enough, it becomes cultural pollution that affects homes, children, worship, and societal shame. However, hope exists through Christ. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians that while we may have been defined by various sins, such were some of you - past tense. Through Christ, we are washed, sanctified, and justified.
