The Manifest Power of God

April 5, 2026 Speaker: Marcus Francis

Verse: Luke 24:1–9

The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as the most pivotal moment in human history, demonstrating the exceeding greatness of God's power that conquered death and now works within believers' hearts. When the faithful women arrived at the tomb with spices to embalm Jesus' body, they found the massive stone rolled away and the tomb empty. In their confusion and fear, God lovingly sent angels to announce the truth: He is not here, but has risen. This moment validated everything Jesus claimed about Himself and serves as divine confirmation that the debt of sin was fully paid.

The resurrection's impact extends far beyond personal salvation, transforming three fundamental aspects of human existence. It established a new covenant written on hearts rather than stone tablets, fulfilling God's promise to Abraham that all nations would be blessed through his seed. Jesus inaugurated a spiritual, eternal kingdom characterized by righteousness, love, justice, and peace that welcomes all people regardless of background. Additionally, He became our eternal High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, offering one perfect sacrifice that provides direct access to God and complete forgiveness.

The same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead now works within believers, calling them to move from passive faith to active transformation. God desires to resurrect passion and fire in believers who have become complacent, empowering them to live holy lives and serve victoriously. This means translating Sunday worship into Monday through Saturday holiness, being bold witnesses in every environment, and bringing all troubles to the foot of the cross where our High Priest intercedes. The resurrection isn't merely a historical event but the ongoing demonstration of God's manifest power working in believers' lives today.
