True Faith Wins

Topic: Faith and Courage Verse: 1 John 5:1–5
Real faith is founded on the person and work of Jesus Christ rather than specific outcomes we desire. It comprises three crucial components: knowing the right things about God through Scripture, believing these truths to be authentic, and acting on this belief by personally depending on Jesus for salvation and daily living. This genuine faith isn't a one-time event but a continuous process of staying anchored in Scripture, depending on God's guidance, and submitting our emotions to Christ.
We must be careful to avoid counterfeit versions of faith, including natural faith based merely on experience, optimistic faith focused only on positive outcomes, historical faith that knows facts without relationship, miraculous faith seeking only signs and wonders, temporary faith that falls away in trials, church faith based on attendance without heart change, and cultural faith without personal commitment. True faith is actually a gift from God—we were spiritually dead, and He made us alive. This understanding kills pride, produces humility, strengthens peace, grows hope, and makes us acknowledge our complete dependence on God. Even when prayers aren't answered as we hoped, real faith steps toward God rather than away from Him, trusting His love and wisdom.
