Cultivating A Grateful Heart

November 24, 2024 Speaker: Kenyata Lewis

Verse: Philippians 4:6–7, Colossians 3:15–16, Galatians 5:16–26, Ephesians 5:18–21, Matthew 20:25–28

In today's message, the importance of cultivating a grateful heart was emphasized as a transformative practice that aligns us with God's will and brings peace. Recognizing God's consistent greatness and avoiding the pitfalls of ingratitude are crucial. The story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19 serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of gratitude and the consequences of an ungrateful heart.

To cultivate a grateful heart, focus on God's unchanging nature rather than circumstances, pray with thanksgiving as encouraged in Philippians 4:6-7, and remember God's past deeds and blessings. A heart controlled by the Holy Spirit, as described in Ephesians 5:18-21 and Galatians 5:16-26, overflows with gratitude. This week, practice daily gratitude, prayer with thanksgiving, and surrender to the Holy Spirit to develop a heart of thankfulness that brings peace and aligns with God's will.
